The Office For Low Emission Vehicles, known as OLEV is a government department. One of OLEV’s main goals is to improve EV infrastructure and access to electric vehicles in the UK. To encourage the use of electric vehicles the OLEV department has set up funding to reduce EV charging point installation costs. The funding is available via 3 schemes: EV Homecharge Scheme, Workplace Charging Scheme and On-Street Residential Chargepoint Scheme.
EV Homecharge Scheme
This scheme is for personal EV users to help with EV charge point installation at a domestic property. In order to access the grant you need to use an approved electrical contractor such as Applegarth, have off-street parking available and have an eligible electric vehicle.
Workplace Charging Scheme
This scheme is for commercial clients, looking to install EV charging points at a business, charity or public authority for employees and customers. Under this scheme Applegarth can install up to 20 single EV chargers.
On-Street Residential Charge Point Scheme
For properties without access to off-street parking. This scheme enables local authorities to access funding to help with the installation of on-street EV charging points in residential areas.
