We are fully accredited under the Microgeneration Certification Scheme to install solar panels in Merseyside.
What are solar panels & how do they work?
Solar panels are devices that convert sunlight into electricity. They are constructed from lots of solar cells. These solar cells are made from layers of semi-conducting material, which is usually silicon. The solar panel generates electricity when photons from the suns rays react with electrons in the semi-conducting material. The stronger the sunlight the more electricity is generated.
The benefits of solar panels
- Reduce your electricity bills
- Get paid for the electricity your solar panels generate
- Reduce your carbon footprint
- Sell any excess energy, your solar panels generate, to the grid
Feed-In-Tariff
The feed-in-tariff scheme was introduced by the government, back in 2010, as an incentive for people to install renewable energy technologies such as solar panels. Financially, the scheme pays you a set rate per unit of electricity produced by your solar panel system. An additional rate is available for any excess energy your solar panels generate and export back to the grid. You will receive these payments quarterly, from your electricity supplier.
